A big thank you to Martin and Shirley for setting up the kiddush room for the first DHC oneg since the alterations. The new tables were very comfortable and stable but easy to move. It will be possible to have very flexible layouts depending on numbers and there was plenty of room for the guests to circulate and chat to different people. Martin, helped by Don, has altered the large old table to form an easily accessible buffet table complete with a plate-sized shelf above, a brilliant idea! Thank you too to Estelle for co-ordinating the delicious meal and making a very tasty butternut squash soup despite being one-handed and indeed to all who came and contributed to the meal.
The congregation enthusiastically supported the lay service leader, most especially the members of the DHC Lifelong Learning beit midrash class for their outstanding singing of the Aleinu.
