A select band met last Sunday in the picturesque Thirsk market place in glorious sunshine for the very first social group outing. After a good lunch we spent an informative, enjoyable and interesting afternoon in the James Herriot museum. We were fortunate to have had a VIP guide as Anita turned out to be a volunteer at the museum. This was far more extensive than any of us had realised being on several floors and included the only veterinary medicine exhibition in the country together with sets from the BBC “All Creatures Great and Small” programmes. Everyone who came found it a most convivial and relaxing day out. Many thanks to Anita for suggesting it and making the arrangements.
